Took a Deep Breath in the Mirror…
When I made it to the bathroom, I felt like I was dreaming. Everyone was giving me weird looks and laughing at how much I was crying. I didn’t care; they weren’t the ones with the red wristband. I was about to meet the most amazingly perfect person in the whole entire world: Taylor Alison Swift!
I took the first full breath of the entire night and looked at myself in the mirror. I had red face paint smeared all over the place! As I reached in my bag for my hairbrush and tissues, red and white confetti was falling out everywhere! I let out a little laugh and continued to clean my face and try to do something with the rats nest on top of my head! I washed and dried my face and darted for section 101; this was where the Club Red paper said to meet!
124... or 101?
When I got there, I met up with this little girl and her dad. We hugged each other. Even though we were complete strangers, it didn’t matter. We were both Swifties, and we both knew how much the other was freaking out! We ended up sticking together as we went to sit in section 101. The security guards were a little confused and kept telling us that we were supposed to be in section 124; I knew he was wrong. Usually security knows little to nothing about Club Red. But we didn’t want to take the chance.
We asked if we could please cut through the floor to get to section 124, but they said no. So we had to run! It was all the way on the opposite side of the arena. We darted through thousands of people staring at us like we were insane. I pulled out my camera and started to record; this was too great to miss. I needed to document every detail! Of course, when we got all the way to section 124, they said no come back to 101. So we ran all the way back! I didn’t care though.
Nothing could take this amazing feeling away!
101 it is!...
When we got to the correct section, the guard asked to see our paper and wristbands. I was recording as I started down the stairs to the bottom, where the Club Red group was anxiously awaiting. My legs were shaking. When we got to the bottom we took a seat. I looked around at everyone who had been chosen and was so excited for each and every one of them.
The Rules…
Stephanie went through the rules with us. The usual;
“You can take as many photos as you would like of Club Red. Please absolutely NO video. As soon as Taylor walks into the room please put all cameras and phones away into your bag. If I catch you videoing or taking pics while Taylor is in the room, you will be asked to leave. There’s going to be ONE photo allowed with Taylor per group. No exceptions. ONE autograph per person. Please have the item you would like Taylor to sign out and ready.”
Stephanie then asked us to hold up out red wristbands one more time so she could count them. It tried to hear how many. The last number I hear was 27- That sounds about right!
Stephanie then asked us to all get up and line up single fashioned. I got my camera out and started recording. They had security lead us back through double doors, down a hall way, and then through another door.
This is it….
As soon as we walked through the door, to my right about 7 feet away was the Club Red entrance! I quickly switched my camera and took a shot of the red entrance that said “Club Red” in white. I was freaking out.
When we walked in, I walked to my right. It was a little smaller than I expected, but still amazing! I talked with a few other Swifties and checked out the photo booth. I decided I didn’t want to do the photo booth because I was alone, and taking pics of the room was more important to me at the time since as soon as Taylor got there, we wouldn’t have any more time to take our own pictures.
Behind the Lense…
I made my way around the room and others asked me to take pictures of them and they offered to do the same for me since I was alone. Everyone was so sweet! I took two pictures with my Club Red pass in front of all the candy and the Red Album over.
I then took two pictures in front of the picture column that is always in the T-Party room. I decided I wanted to take a picture with the picture of Meredith that was on the column, so I did. It turned out super cute!- I adore cats!
I continued around the room, admired the red and white drapery, took a close look at the costume cases and grabbed a bottled water from the counter in front of the TV that was playing nonstop Taylor footage. On top of the TV were decorative letters that spelled out “Red”, of course. I then noticed that there were three pizzas lined up right next to the water bucket. I remember thinking to myself, that’s probably not a good idea! I’m about to meet Taylor Swift, there’s no way I could remember how to eat right now!
Flashbacks and Echoes…
So I went on to admire more of her costumes from the past tours. As I looked at each piece a flood of memories filled my mind.
The sparks fly dress- gold. I remember seeing this tour. It was 11/18/2011 and I was with my best friend! We dressed up with a light up “1” and “3” on out shirts. That night was flawless.
Next, was the short purple dress from Speak Now Tour. This has always been my absolute favorite dress of Taylor’s. Our taste in clothing is very similar so I am in love with this dress and it was so perfect on her.
The last costume on this wall was the band outfit from her Fearless Tour. This really brought back the memories. I actually got chills. It was 2009 and my dad took me to the Fearless tour. It was the last time she played in North Charleston. I remember exactly what I was wearing. And I can play back the opening number for that tour like it was just yesterday. Taylor opened up with You Belong with Me and she wore that band costume!
Of course I took a selfie with the purple dress and someone saw me struggle and offered to take a picture of me in front of them. I told them “Thank you so much!”
By this time, Stephanie told us to please spread out in our groups because Taylor would be there soon. I was trying not to start crying! The same little girl and her dad that I met in section 101 earlier ended up right next to me. She was about to cry too! We gave each other another hug and were totally fangirling.
